You should visit the Bastakia Quarter also called Al-Fahidi Neighborhood, you can find many places in this area such as musuems, restaurants (emirati food), hotels, galleries, mosques, government departments, coffee shops, retail, public amenities, landmarks and the most famous place in this area is the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding.

Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding is a non-profit organization invite the guests to join their program to gain a better understanding of the culture, customs, religion and history of UAE. The Dubai Musuem is the main museum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is located in the Al Fahidi Fort, built in 1787 and is the oldest existing building in Dubai.The museum was opened by the ruler of Dubai in 1971, with the aim of presenting the traditional way of life in the Emirate of Dubai. When entering, one can see the fort constructed and the various displays that go along with it. From the fort, there is a path to the galleries, which display the general culture of the land, especially in the 1800s. It includes local antiquities as well as artifacts from African and Asian countries that traded with Dubai. It also includes several dioramas showing life in the emirate before the advent of oil, in addition to artifacts from recent discoveries as old as 3000 BC.

Dubai Abra, abra comes from the Arabic verb “abara” which means to cross it also known as Water Taxi. Take a ride on the Dubai Abra, the city’s most traditional mode of transport. For centuries, it has remained one of Dubai’s most frequented modes of transport, making it the symbol of the city ’s history and heritage. There are different types of Abras. In the historic district, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai, is an affordable 10-minute traditonal wooden boat ride (water taxi). Take the abra from the Bastakiya side, you can look around the textile souk and the art galleries, and end in the gold souk. Used by 15-20 million passengers each year, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai is a memorable cruise in the water.
